Thor review

Thor is one of those superheroes that I did not know existed until the movie came out. Then when the movie did come out I never saw it in theaters (I’m not sure why, my dad said that Thor is one of his favorite superheroes, it’s sorta weird that we saw Captain America but not Thor, but whatever). Anyway, I’m watching Thor and only one thought is going through my mind:
I liked Captain America better.
I couldn’t help it, I really couldn’t. I really, really, REALLY wished that I had seen Thor first then I could be all like “WOW I love this movie!” then once I saw Captain America I could be like “OMG I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH! I LOVE CHRIS EVENS! I LOVE CAPTAIN AMERICA  <3 <3 <3” (I’m not sure how I would say the “<3” but I’m sure I would have found a way.)
And you may be wondering WHY I liked Captain America better. It’s really not a simple answer, but I’ll try my best to show my mind to all of you.
1: the girl, Jane (Natalie Portman) kinda bugged me. Don’t get me wrong, I like Natalie Portman in almost everything she has been in (Except the Star Wars films, I hate the prequels of Star Wars and I always will, but that is a completely different review all together) but she bugged me nonetheless. For example, (Spoiler!) at the end when Thor finally gets his power back and he’s all dressed up in his getup Jane says, “is this how you always look?” Thor responds, “More or less,” and Jane is all like, “It’s a good look” while shaking her head and checking him out.  All this tells me is that Jane only likes Thor for his body and not for his attitude or for his mind or his actions or anything other then his body. Nice. Really smooth. Now if you compare Jane to Peggy Carter from Captain America then you will see the exact opposite. Peggy Carter liked Steve Rogers even before he became Captain America. When he was tiny and small and very unattractive. Then he became supermegaawesomehot Captain America and Peggy obviously didn’t complain, but she liked him the exact same. Some how this sort of love seems a lot more sincere, I can’t imagine why.
2: the animation was not good at all. In fact, it is what you would call horrible. Captain America’s animation was not very good as well, but the movie was not so dependent on the animation that it was super noticeable. But Thor was the exact opposite, the story required so much animation, and since it wasn’t that good the poor quality of the animation was much more noticeable. At some points I felt like I was in a video game. I feel like they could have tried a bit harder in that regard, but I guess no one asked Molly before making this movie.
3: Thor goes from being a total jerk to being an awesome guy that makes you eggs in the morning in like 5 minutes. What the heck happened? Not a lot of actual changing time takes place in between jerk Thor and nice Thor.  Although I did say that I did not like the fact that Captain America did not have a lot of character development, I do think that it sorta works better in a movie that is only 1 ½ hours to 2 hours long not to have major character change.
So those are the 3 major reasons why I did not like Thor. But despite these things I have said, I did enjoy the movie. And that’s what you’re supposed to do! You are supposed to go to the movies to enjoy whatever movie you see, and this movie is one of those movies that you will laugh at, that you will appreciate, that you will enjoy! I recommend this to anyone who likes Marvel movies.
My rating: 79
rating: PG-13 for some slight language.
