Captain AmericaI

just saw Captain America, and let me tell you, it wasn’t a bad movie. I mean it wasn’t a great movie either. The special effects weren’t the greatest (Like when you first see C.A. running, Yikes!) and there was no real character development, plus with the obvious, um, shall we say, inspiration of Star Wars 6 that was pretty cheesy, but I’m a Star wars fan, so I didn’t mind (Only in my mind they would have all pulled out lightsabers and killed those bad guys, but that might have gone over board- but Chris Evens as a Jedi??? can you say Molly’s soul mate? :D) But there was some definite  potential for this movie. The one character that I thought was very good (I mean, besides Chris Evens, he is always amazing, and pretty good looking if I do say so myself-and I do) was Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). She went above and beyond what I thought she was going to. Reasons why Peggy Carter was awesome: 1)so when I first saw Peggy, the first thing that came into my mind was that she was going to be one of those insane women that you want to like, but then find it so hard to like, because they are witches with a b. and they are all like, “I’m better then men” the whole point of equal rights is that we are EQUAL, but I guess those women don’t care about that. Besides that, I was already voting against Peggy because, um, girlfriend, Chris Evens is mine! But I was pleasantly surprised when she actually seemed like a regular person. A regular person, that is, that could kick your butt. 2) Did I mention that she could kick your butt? The first scene you see her in she totally punches the lights out of a guy. Why to go, girlfriend! (Just saying, Chris Evens is still mine) Then there was Captain America himself! The handsome, cunning Chris Evens plays the main man, but was surprising enough, he wasn’t as handsome or as cunning as I had seen him in other films. Don’t get me wrong, he was one cute dude-without his mask, that darn mask. But Evens usual character is a smart, witty, bad boy who happens to know what he is talking about. Captain America didn’t have this side of him…..but what can you do, right? Over all, not a bad movie, not a great movie either, but totally worth seeing.  My rating: 84 Rated: PG-13 Paper’s rating: 86
